He has dedicated the majority of his professional career to the shipbuilding sector and marine technologies.
He joined the Gijon shipyard JULIANA in 1975, where he held various management positions, eventually being promoted to Managing Director. During this time, he participated in the construction, testing and after-sales service of a multitude of export vessels.
He stayed there until the beginning of 2011, the year in which he joined the corporate management of NAVANTIA in Madrid, as Director of Offshore Wind Business Development.
In December 2012, he was appointed as Managing Director of the NAVANTIA Ría de Ferrol Shipyards, which includes the Fene and Ferrol facilities, dedicated to civil and naval shipbuilding, as well as the manufacturing of large structures for offshore wind energy.
In July 2017, he was transferred to the NAVANTIA Technological Center in Madrid as Director of Shipyard 4.0, to lead the Group’s digital transformation, the implementation of enabling technologies and the new associated physical infrastructures.
In October 2017, he took over the management of IDESA as the Managing Director.
